Nobody impacts our hearts more powerfully than Wise Man Doug Cox. His
"Message in a Bottle" is no exception: WEAR SHOES THAT FIT. There should be a thumbs width between your longest toe and the tip of the shoe. TRY ON SHOES LATE IN THE DAY Feet swell as the day goes on, so you will get the most accurate fit in the afternoon. PROTECT YOUR FEET. If you are wearing shoes that give you blisters, apply a layer of petroleum jelly to them to minimize friction. BREAK IN NEW SHOES BEFORE WEARING THEM OUT. Put them on a couple hours a day around the house, increasing gradually. FIND THE SHOE THAT’S BEST FOR YOU Shoes with shock absorption, such as sneakers and styles with rubbery soles, are good for arched feet. If your feet are flat, opt for shoes with support. Consider using an orthotic, an insert placed in the shoe to put the foot in the optimal position to bear weight. |
