We would love Hearing From You

Nobody impacts our hearts more powerfully than Wise Man Doug Cox. His "Message in a Bottle" is no exception:

"I'm so glad that you found this. I have something I've been meaning to tell you. It's about you, my stylist, and me, your client. Do you have any idea how important you are to me? How many times in my life I was lost or sad or just feeling alone when I walked into your salon. I smiled and pretended that every thing was fine, but I think you knew the truth. I needed you. The gracious welcome and the confident hand that led me to the shampoo bowl. You never treat me like it's just another shampoo; but instead, you make it a moment's peace and healing for me. Your knowledge of how important it is, not just to look good on the outside, but to feel good on the inside is a special gift.
"I'm so glad that you found this message. I wanted you to know that I am aware of the hours of education, practice and commitment it has taken you to become so good at what you do for me. Thank you!"

Copy this and put it in your drawer at work. Read it when you’re having a not-so-great day. Use it to remember how much you mean to your clients.

WEAR SHOES THAT FIT.

There should be a thumbs width between your longest toe and the tip of the shoe.

TRY ON SHOES LATE IN THE DAY

Feet swell as the day goes on, so you will get the most accurate fit in the afternoon.

PROTECT YOUR FEET.

If you are wearing shoes that give you blisters, apply a layer of petroleum jelly to them to minimize friction.

BREAK IN NEW SHOES BEFORE WEARING THEM OUT.

Put them on a couple hours a day around the house, increasing gradually.

FIND THE SHOE THAT’S BEST FOR YOU

Shoes with shock absorption, such as sneakers and styles with rubbery soles, are good for arched feet. If your feet are flat, opt for shoes with support. Consider using an orthotic, an insert placed in the shoe to put the foot in the optimal position to bear weight.
